Product Features
- Water solubility: Fully hydrates within 3–5 minutes in cold water without high-temperature stirring, demonstrating significantly superior mixing efficiency compared to conventional guar gum; ·
- Rheological properties: Exhibits typical shear-thinning behavior (pseudo-plasticity); serves as a low-shear, high-viscosity suspension for ceramsite/ quartz sand proppants, with viscosity automatically decreasing during high-pressure pumping to reduce equipment energy consumption; ·
- Temperature tolerance: Conventional HPG products maintain stability at 100–120°C, while advanced modified versions endure up to 150°C; retains over 75% initial viscosity after 4 hours at 120°C; ·
- Salt and electrolyte resistance: Its nonionic structure exhibits minimal viscosity reduction in seawater or highly mineralized formation waters, making it suitable for offshore oil fields; ·
- Low residue advantage: Water-insoluble content ≤3% (≤1% in premium grades), whereas conventional guar gum contains up to 20% residue, substantially reducing reservoir blockage and increasing post-injection drainage rates by over 10%; · Compatibility: Compatible with any anionic/ionic/nonionic additives (gel-disrupting agents, drainage promoters, clay stabilizers, boron/zirconium crosslinkers), with pH stability ranging from 4 to 10.
Applications
- Oil & Gas Fracturing (Main Application): Serving as the core thickener in water-based fracturing fluids, it is used for shale oil, tight gas, conventional sandstone reservoirs, and offshore oil/gas well fracturing modifications, compatible with linear gel and boron-crosslinked gel fracturing systems.
- Oilfield support additives for enhanced operations, used in acidizing pre-treatment fluids, low-damage completion fluids, and well repair fluids for thickening, while providing anti-expansion, sand-carrying, and temporary plugging assistance.
- Other application: Low substitution degree specifications are applicable to thickening agents in daily chemical care products, rheological stabilizers for coatings, and thickening/suspension agents for food and beverages.
